How does a t-shirt change the face of hip-hop?

From Lil Kim to the Shop Boyz, nowadays you ain’t hip hop if you don’t own a vintage Ed Hardy t-shirt. The clothing line’s signature graphic hats, tees and jeans lets you look TAT, TAT, TATTED up without the permanent ink. So ever wonder who’s the man behind the clothes?

Turns out design genius Christian Audigier (responsible for the Von Dutch trucker hat explosion a few years back) was influenced by famous ink master Don Ed Hardy, and created the Ed Hardy clothing line in 2004.

In less than three years, Audigier has flipped the hip hop fashion industry upside down – making Ed Hardy the KING of designer t-shirts. Now we get to party like rock stars and look like them too.
